Bowman Field (LOU) is centrally located and minutes from most Louisville, Kentucky destinations.

Over the decades, Bowman Field has played a vital role in the growth and evolution of our country's aviation industry. It was founded by Abram H. Bowman, who had a vision about the importance of aviation at a time when many people were unconvinced that air travel had a future.

The Bowman Field of today has changed a great deal from its humble beginnings in 1919. The sod strips have been replaced by concrete aprons and runways. Light industries and other non-aviation concerns have located on airport property, and T-hangars occupy much of the east side. Bowman Field is home to hundreds of privately owned aircraft.
